Eutelsat W2 satellite failure: GlobeCast reacts immediatelyOn the evening of January 27, 2010, the GlobeCast teams demonstrated quick response time during the malfunction of Eutelsat’s W2 satellite (16° East). GlobeCast clients’ broadcasts were transferred onto the satellites W2M and EUROBIRD (16° East) in order to avoid complete service interruption. Over the next few days, other back up programs were put in place to reposition the affected broadcasters onto SESAT, the new Eutelsat satellite. These alternative solutions for clients were put in place thanks to the effort of the technical and sales teams from GlobeCast, in cooperation with Eutelsat. |
